After the next laser beam treatment of mine of the prostate, I went through the healing process by following my physicians orders: drink water & hardly any strenuous workout. Likewise, he mentioned to take supplemental medication whenever required for pain as well as return to the office of his for a check up.
In retrospect, I should have turned out to be a second opinion before I helped the doctor to operate a second time for similar reason BPH (enlarged prostate). The doctor suggested that we wait and discover if additional surgical intervention was needed. I was instructed to drink a lot of water and to contact whether my situation worsen.
I left the office sensation that I’d chosen the bad doctor. But to get a second opinion would require running through similar test and waiting several weeks to get a follow up report. I made the decision that I will pay attention to this young health care provider (35 40 yrs of age).
On July five, 2006 was a day that I am going to remember for the rest of my life. I a woke to find that I could not urinate at all. The tissue had totally fused together! I was in a panic and the bladder of mine was getting extended. Instantly, I returned to the doctors’ office without having a meeting. Of course, he was not there. The nurses indicated he was operating throughout the day at the hospital. Bladder pain started as I drove to the hospital. I called my wife to let her know I had a dilemma.
The hospital personnel tried unsuccessfully to put a catheter to relieve the pressure on my bladder. They failed all 3 times due to the fused tissue. The pain was just great I ordered them to stop. Last but not least, the doctor of mine was called, however, he was presently in surgery, hence I’d to wait several hours with a long bladder. Ideas of a second opinion along with a lawsuit did make their way in to the head of mine as I waited on the torture rack.
My doctor arrived a few hours in the future and he didn’t make an effort to catheterize me, as he needed to operate for the final time on my prostate. He explained to me that he would have to get special permission away from the hospital to use. I didn’t argue because I only wanted relief. Don’t take for granite the capability to urine.
My doctor received authorization from the hospital, though I’d to wait 6 more time for any TURP (Transurethral Resection of Prostate) surgery. You’re probably wondering about the surgical treatment. The bottom line is that I’d a negative reaction to the laser and the laser beam (heat) inflamed the prostate tissue. Whether this was caused by poor surgical treatment, the laser, or perhaps reaction to latex still remains unexplained to this particular day. Below is the really surgical report from the surgeon:
